Quintessential Thought
We get a lot of students coming to us asking “Is this Scrum? Is this agile?” More than anything else, the value of adaptability lies in prioritizing. Trim the unnecessary and focus on the essence that will test the product's true value. We continually ask, "Is this valuable to us?" – that's the essence of Scrum, Agile, and prioritizing our backlog.
Remember, tools for prioritization are not definitive science. Instead, they can guide us from a blank page to meaningful discussions. Whether you're using frameworks like MoSCoW or engaging stakeholders in a voting exercise, the goal remains: seek perspectives to prioritize effectively.
The key? Always tackle the highest potential value, smallest size, and riskiest work first. By addressing the uncertainties head-on, we learn the fastest and set the stage for clearer paths toward higher-value delivery.
